Built small on purpose, so every engagement gets real attention

James Mansell designs and delivers workplace wellbeing for Elementa Workspace’s flagship site, 1 Great St Helens — called in by their architects and interior designers to shape what the space needed, then sourcing and installing the equipment himself.

That standard comes from an elite-level performance training background: he still trains clients himself, and draws in a small, hand-picked network of specialist practitioners as each engagement needs them. Not a faceless wellness vendor: one accountable practice, scaled deliberately, never diluted.

The gap

Most workplace wellbeing amenities are underused.

The gap, specifically

Three ways it usually goes wrong

01

Wellbeing as decoration.

A subscription or a perk, launched once, mentioned in the induction pack, never checked again.

02

A lack of ownership.

HR holds the budget, facilities holds the space, and nobody checks whether it helps.

03

Point solutions, no through-line.

An app here, a discount there — none of it scoped to what your team actually needs.

Wellbeing works when someone is accountable for it working.

964,000 people took time off work last year because of stress made worse by their job. (HSE, 2024/25)

9.4 days average employee absence a year — up from 5.8 pre-pandemic, with mental health now the single biggest cause. (CIPD, 2025)

What we do

One engagement, three parts

£5 back for every £1 spent on workplace wellbeing support that’s actually used. (Deloitte)

01

Scope

Before a single session is booked.

Defining what your team actually needs, working with your architects and designers when the space itself is part of the brief.

02

Source

Chosen to fit your site, not just the invoice.

Once the need is defined, we help secure better terms from the right suppliers and partners.

03

Deliver

Reviewed against what it was built to achieve.

Ongoing 1:1 and group support, led by James and, as demand grows, a small bench of specialist practitioners.

Elevate — Science at Work, in practice

Elementa’s Science at Work argues a workspace earns its place by what it makes possible — for the business, and for the people in it. Elevate is where Mansell puts that thinking into daily practice: a practitioner who shows up, a session that clears someone’s head, a body that copes better with a demanding week. Live across two sites since 2026 — and Elevate’s own numbers back it up.

Before

Wellbeing decisions got made after the space was already fitted out — a line item nobody with the right expertise had signed off.

After

Now embedded across two Elementa sites, running on a plan built for the space and the people in it — delivered by the same practitioner who scoped it, not handed off to whoever’s free.

Fifteen minutes, no forms, no pitch deck. Tell us what’s actually not working.

02

Get a plan

A scoped proposal within days, priced against the outcome you’re buying.

03

Go live

Practitioners on site inside weeks — then we prove it’s working.

James Mansell

James still trains clients 1:1 himself — the same standard behind every programme he builds for a workplace.
